The purpose of Summit City Prosthetics & Orthotics is to inspire moments of optimism and happiness in our patients. The purpose then creates the mission. Our mission is to develop lasting relationships by exceeding expectations and earning trust through exceptional service and performance.

Meet The Team

Shawn Brown, CPO

President, Certified Prosthetist & Orthotist

Shawn has worked in the industry since 1994 and graduated from the Prosthetics & Orthotics program at California State University in Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences. A former Paralympic athlete, where he met his wife and now officemate, Allison, Shawn now serves as Summit City Prosthetic’s President and Founder.

Allison Brown

Allison graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s of Science and went on to be a Paralympic Gold Medalist Swimmer where she met her husband, Shawn. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her friends and children and also studying nutrition and healthy lifestyle options.

Jason Timmer, CPO, LPO

Certified & Licensed Prosthetist & Orthotist

Jason has worked in the O&P field since 1999 and graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago in 2005 for orthotics and 2010 for prosthetics. Jason also attended Michigan State University with a background in Kinesiology and joined the Summit family in March of 2021. When he’s not at work, Jason can be found enjoying lake life, fishing and traveling with his family.

Nicole Platter

Billing Administrator

Nicole graduated from Purdue Fort Wayne with focuses in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from her experiences as a Case Manager for a life insurance brokerage firm, Registration Supervisor at Dupont Hospital and Indiana University Ambulatory Surgery Center. Nicole joined the Summit City team in 2023 and enjoys working with a close-knit group that feels like family. When she’s not at work, Nicole enjoys being at the lake and spending time with her 4 kids, 4 grandkids, and 3 dogs.

Reed Flaugh

Lab Supervisor

Reed started his career in the prosthetic and orthotic industry right out of high school in 2015 and has now gained years of experience in lab fabrication and assisting with patients. He was welcomed into the Summit family in August of 2021. Reed can be found spending time with his wife and officemate, Courtney, and loves getting his hands dirty working on cars and building engines.

Heather Hoffmann

Heather joined the Summit City team after serving over 30 years with the Fort Wayne Police Department as a patrol officer. As an incredibly active amputee, she is an inspiration to those that know her. An avid equestrian, she sits as a board member and Adoption Coordinator for Friends of Ferdinand, a nonprofit organization that focuses on thoroughbred aftercare. Outside of Summit City, you can find Heather spending time with her husband camping, kayaking, or with their 2 Samoyed dogs, 4 off track thoroughbred horses, and mini donkey.

Adam Bowser

Director of Marketing

Adam graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing after serving over 12 years as a U.S. Army Combat Medic. His love of marketing, medicine, and orthopedic trauma brought him to the Summit City team in January 2024. Adam loves the daily opportunities to make positive impacts with our patients and to foster thriving relationships. Outside of Summit City, you can find Adam in the woods, fishing, or enjoying a house project.
