Navigating Daily Life for Patients Living with Limb Loss

In this interactive course, PTs and OTs are guided through the daily routines of patients living with limb loss. Activities of Daily Living will be a prevalent theme throughout this course, as examples and scenarios of ADLs will be integrated into each prosthetic topic and how PTs and OTs can optimize their therapy sessions to provide an optimal outcome for their patients, potentially setting the patient up for a successful return to work or home. The basics of prosthetic care are explained through the eyes of both Prosthetists and Therapists as they identify the most common obstacles that amputee patients face each day from the time they wake up in the morning and begin to navigate through their day. This course will cover a wide variety of prosthetic related topics such as shrinkers, liners, suspension techniques and strategies for sock ply management as they relate to providing the patient with a comfortable fitting socket and the ability to accomplish all of their activities of daily living.
