What to Expect
Consultation
A member of the Summit City family will meet with you either before or immediately after your surgery and answer any questions you may have about the overall process.
When will I receive my prosthesis?
The answer to this question varies from patient to patient and we strive to keep you updated on the process until you are ready to be scheduled for your next appointment.
The Fitting Process
This step is especially important as we design a custom, comfortable fitting socket tailored specifically for the shape of your residual limb.
ITEMS & TERMS TO KNOW:
We will assist you in learning all of the important, new terms to know. You don’t have to go through this alone. We will be with you through the entire process and answer any questions that you may have!
For new amputees, the whole process can seem intimidating, but it is always important to remember that no one goes through an amputation alone. There are lots of resources and organizations available to help with everything from pre-surgery consultations to programs for life-long peer support.
